Changing the Default Font in Word
The default font in Word is usually Times New Roman, either 12
point or even 10 point in older versions of Word. You may not want
Times New Roman to be your font...or you may not want the default
size. Rather than changing it every time you open a new document -
change the default setting so that it opens the way you want every
time you start Word. It's easy and it can save you time everyday!
It's great for businesses who use a specific font often. Make sure,
however, if you share this electronic document with others that they
do have the font that you are using. If not, it may not display the
way you want. Read more about how fonts
work.
Here's what you do:
- Open a new, blank document.
- Choose Format and then Font.
- Change to the desired font and size.
- Click the default button in the bottom
corner.
- Click Yes to the confirmation message.
The next time you create a new Word document, it will use the
new settings. |
